Pee Pants

When I went to pick Sava from school today, his teacher Michelle told me that he had had a little 'accident' and was wearing school clothes, while his own clothes were in a plastic bag in his cubby. It turned out later that he had peed not only in his own clothes, but also in the school underpants, since the teachers apparently didn't know that when he has an 'accident' he pees just a bit of what he has inside and then needs to go to the bathroom anyway; he wouldn't volunteer that information himself, of course, which is why I found him wet.
In the evening at dinner, I asked him to tell tati what he had been wearing at school that day, as a way of nudging him to say that he had had an accident. The following conversation ensued:
Mom: "Sava, tell tati what you were wearing when I came to pick you up today."
Sava: "I was wearing red pants from school!"
Dad: "Oh, you were? Why were you wearing red pants?"
Sava: "Because mine were in a little baggy in my cubby!"
Dad: "Oh, and why were they in a little baggy in your cubby?"
Sava: "So I could take them home!"
We laughed, understandably, but so did he, wildly amused by his own cleverness. In fact, we had not heard him laugh so hard in a really long time.
