"And he to me: ' This mountain's of such sort
that climbing it is hardest at the start;
but as we rise, the slope grows less unkind.
Therefore, when this slope seems to you so gentle
that climbing farther up will be as restful
as traveling downstream by boat, you will
be where this pathway ends, and there you can
expect to put your weariness to rest.
I say no more, and this I know as truth.'"
Dante, Purgatorio IV.88-96

Prophetic Dream
A few nights ago, in the delirium of waking up and going to sleep every hour or so, I had a dream about Sava: he was four years old, and his teacher in pre-school had come over to complain to us that he was selling his toys online--on Ebay, to make money. It is so going to be true. He will start living online as soon as he can sit by himself and is able to coordinate his fingers. He already coughs for dramatic effect just to draw our attention when there is no need to cough at all.
