Poop Scoop

If it seems that most of the posts on this blog revolve around poop, it's because Poop reigns supreme in our home. Sava's poop defines our days: good poop (yellow, non-smelly) brings on smiles; bad poop (green, stinky) worries us no end.

Fortunately, the news on the poop front have been good in the last few days. After the wrenching blood drawing and memorable poop collection on Saturday, Sava's lab results came back clear of any major problems. On Sunday, looking for trouble--and because the Poop looked good--we decided to test our long-standing suspicion that maybe food was not the culprit in Sava's tummy aches. So, mommy blissfully ate a 6 oz. yogurt. Long story short, we woke up in the middle of the night to a baby boy squirming in pain and screaming. He's been miserable for the last four days, even though today he finally managed to eat a bit and get some naps; nights have been very long--he woke up every hour after 11 a.m. last night.

We know now that Sava can't stand milk. I have resigned myself to many more mornings of Rice Dream over cheerios; to no cheese; no baked goods; no yogurt; no nothing that has the slightest trace of milk. At this point, it doesn't even matter. Rest and sleep is the only thing we want--both for Sava and for us.
