Sava is picking up all sorts of guy lore from one of his friends at school, John, who watches science fiction at home. One of their favorite recent obsessions--and therefore favorite pretend play at school--is "power rangers" with "shooter guns."
Sava and his dad have also been reading a book called Yankee Doodle, whose story line is based on the American Revolution.
Right before dinner tonight, Sava was playing with his duplo legos, which deserve a whole separate blog entry, when he turned to his dad and said:
"Look, tati, I made a shooter gun! I'm going to shoot only at bad guys. If I see King George, I'll shoot him!"
Ten seconds later, peering under the table:
"There is King George under the table!! Bam, bam!"
(When I picked Sava up from school today, he also said: "Mommy, today eighty-eight Johns came to school. And they all wore different shirts!!" As Rado commented, if we didn't know better we might think he was on LSD. As it is, he's just an almost-four-year old.)
