Curious George

It never fails to surprise me--at least once every single day--how much I enjoy reading to Sava before bed. These days, daddy almost unfailingly does the evening routine, but I am always on duty for naps during the week, rain or shine. And as any parent of a toddler knows, by the time naps roll around, there is rarely any sensation left other than pure rarefied exhaustion. After morning trips to various places that leave the said toddler happily wired and so pooped that he is spinning in circles (if allowed), the last thing I really want to do is spend another ten minutes talking about monkeys cleaning their room. Yet once we are down on the soft futon that serves as our reading bed, and we have opened the book and Sava begins to point at all manner of odd objects, either naming them or asking that I do, I feel pretty certain that we can just go on like this forever.
