From Slivers to Nuggets

A constellation of happenings, in great particular my new teaching schedule which demands that I face fifteen fresh fourteen-year old faces early Monday morning, have finally nudged me in a direction I've contemplated for a while. I am, at least temporarily, abandoning Sunday Slivers in favor of the much juicier-sounding "hump day nuggets", which I borrow, with gratitude and appreciation, from Nici of dig this chick. I might return to the Slivers for summer break, as a way to distinguish between seasons of (professional) work and rest, but for now there is no long-term plan.

For those of you needing to brush up on your American slang, "hump day" refers to the middle of the week--Wednesday--and the obvious image is one of climbing a hill in order to get to the top, from where one can begin descending in the direction of the weekend. It so happens that Wednesday is very much "hump day" in my teaching week, so the switch does not feel one bit forced. And since dig this chick was the initial inspiration behind Slivers anyway, it feels like coming full circle in a lot of ways.
So, check in again on Wednesday night or Thursday morning, for the first edition of "hump day nuggets."
